Whiskey Beaten (A Poem) - Lukasz Korbanski, 21.09.23

A foreigner at home
and a strange where I dwell.
LORD, won't you take me?
for the devil waits in hell.

Whiskey breath and a heart of wonder
don't make you too kind,
so I ought not to speak my mind
in case I am blind.

Tonight I pray for miracles,
hoping they will set me free -
with Colter, Zach and Tyler Childers
Fraulein' my lonely.

Now I'm whiskey beaten;
3 p.m. and I haven't eaten;
Couldn't stomach the thought of
looking into your eyes.
