Today's post is an update on recently purchased carnivorous plants. This one is a Drosera Filaformis which attracts insects to itself and when they land on these long leaves they are stuck because the plant secretes an enzyme which is very sticky.
The above photo shows a newly forming leaf on the right which unrolls to its full length. On the left, there's a flower stalk which is unrolling.
It is flourishing because it has 19 branches now including the dry ones but when I first got it, it only had 7, with five of them dried out. Take a look at my unboxing video to see what I mean.
I hope to see some flowers and later on, seeds so that I can plant more of these. They are one of the most prolific bug catchers in my garden!
