Sunset and City-Shapes - Colors and Architecture

The sunset and the city-shapes, I wonder what's the influence of the archetype natural lighting of the sunset on the surfaces of the classical architectural motifs. This photo, however, was taken in the back of the building. The sunset light is partially blocked by the massive structure thus the colors are smoother.

The Governor Ioanis Kapodistrias, founded in Aigina in 1829 the first Archeological Museum in Greece. Until 1858 the archeological items have been exposed in various locations but in 1858 there was an international contest for the best architectural design and location in order to build a new modern museum. Finally, Eleni Tositsa offered the land for building the Museum and the construction began in 1866. the whole project was completed in 1889. The main sponsors were the Hellenic Archeological Society, the Mycenaean community and Dimitrios and Nikolaos Vernardakis from St. Petersburg. (info source: wikipedia)

We see the flank of the construction, the sunset light comes smoothly to paint the surfaces while the sun is partially hidden behind the building but not that much as in the first photo.

And here we are on the other side of the street and the building is not a Museum but a simple architectural contrast... Here the sunset light is painting the surfaces with intense colors as they are directly exposed to the sun. The result is not that bad... well, I guess...
