Njivice, Krk, Monument to the old fisherman

This is a photo taken during our trip to the island Krk in Croatia.

Njivice is a small tourist place and pleasant attraction on the west coast of the island.
It is easily found as it is colorful and favorite destination during summer months.

Njivice was first mentioned in the charter of King Ivan Frankopan in 1474, although according to some archeological discoveries the village is much older.

As a tourist place that town was officially announced 1930. year.

As Njivice has been a fishing village throughout history, today there is a statue of a fisherman with a net, and the waterfront is called Ribarska obala.
