Technically it's Wednesday here in the Pacific Northwest, and I can't sleep, so... here are my favorite waterfalls.
Last month, some friends (including fellow steemian @natebillings) and I went on a little waterfall tour down in Oregon. Most people go to the Columbia River Gorge for that, but we wanted a little more. We checked out quite a few. It also happened to be snowing down there which was awesome. Don't really get to see some of these with a winter coat too often!
So, here we go.
First up is Silver Falls. This one is pretty popular, it's in Silver Falls State park and is very developed. The trail actually goes all the way behind the waterfall.. super neat. Also this photo doesn't do justice to how tall this one is (178 ft).
Second up is Abiqua Falls. This one is probably my favorite of the three. The basalt formations are just ridiculously cool. This is a pretty short hike from the car, though the road to get there is a little on the crazy side. Definitely recommend 4wd/decent clearance.
Lastly, Sahalie Falls. This one was just gushing. It was crazy powerful. We took turns standing where my friend is in this photo to add a little scale to the place. No kidding, after standing on those rocks for 15 seconds, you were soaked. Thankfully we were quick with the photos.
You guys have any favorite waterfalls? I'd love to hear them. Always looking to add to my list of places, though the list is getting pretty dang long, ha..
