“Art is an evolutionary act. The shape of art and its role in society is constantly changing. At no point is art static. There are no rules.”
― Raymond Salvatore Harmon, BOMB: A Manifesto of Art Terrorism
Street Art started since World War II. It is used for some artist to make public statement about the society where the artist lives within. This kind of artwork can be seen in buildings, streets and other public places unlike in other medium of art that can only be seen in museum, gallery and art exhibit.
Recently I had a chance to explore this kind of artwork in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Philippines that can be compared to the famous street arts in Mexico and Sao Paolo, Brazil.
This artworks are made by Filipino and Foreign artists during ArtBGC festival. This is a yearly event that is organized by the Bonifacio Arts Foundation (BAFI) since 2015.
If you love having feed goals in intagram this place is best for you. There are a lot of murals that is "intagram worthy". I suggest, in search on these murals around BGC make sure your feet are ready for a long walk and when you find one strike a pose and stream it right away online. A great prize on a long walk awaits you!
Don't worry about finding these murals its just around Bonifacio High Street. You can google it if you like. You can also ask for a map at BGC art center at Alveo, 26th cor 9th ave.
As a traveler and a photo hobbyist this place suits for me. I always consider going to places which has its distinct Tourist spots and BGC is one of them that amazed me not just with its great architectural design of it's building that is coordinated with one another but also with this kind of art.
