Sharing to you some of the sample images of my Canon 1100D with Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8 Lens. These photos were taken last December 2018 during the 2nd Coming Home Photography Workshop by Luis Liwanag, organized by Cha Escala. All photos were edited using the Adobe Lightroom CC App.

I love the fisherman's facial expression in this photo. Either he is such a happy guy, or he was smiling because he is knew he was being photographed. This is one of my favorites.

The girl in yellow is playing and enjoying the rain while the girl at the back seemed to feel different. Reminds me of the famous line that says, "When life hands you lemons, makes some lemonade." Two different emotions in one frame.*

Yep, it was one gloomy morning but they have to work.

He was showing us something that they caught that morning. I'm not sure if that's an Eel, because its my first time seeing one personally, and I was too scared to even take a close up photo. Haha.

The fishing net.

Meanwhile... 😂

Oh kids. No deadlines. No stress. Nothing to think about. Innocence. Pure fun and play. I'm so jealous.

Before, I thought that the fishes are just poured in the boat straight from the fishing net and that's it. I didn't know that they needed to spend some extra time getting some fishes stuck in those nets. Patience and hardwork. Salute to all fishermen.

Is that a sea snake? 😳

Their happy faces. They were joking around and telling each other that they will now become celebrities and famous because they're seeing lots of cameras that morning. It was so fun to take photos of them. They are not afraid of people with cameras, they are so into having their photos taken.

While some are showing off their catch, these guys are just so focused and minding their own business. Haha.

The kid's smile is so priceless. I think he's got some crazy stuff going on in that stick he's holding. While his friend right there is still a bit sleepy. What a beautiful morning boys.

Notice the fisherman's shirt, that's very Filipino. Haha. Politics is everywhere here in the Philippines. 😑

This guy is my favorite subject that morning. The camera seemed to loved him. He's probably so used with people taking photos of him that he seemed not to care and just continued doing his thing. I was using a 50mm so imagine how close I am to this guy when I took this photo. I didn't notice any slight awkward feeling or any sort of tension between us. He was so focused, I feel so invisible. Haha.

Among all the photos, this gets the top spot for being my personal favorite. The yellow cap, the "very Filipino" shirt, the beautiful fishing net, the details and color of his skin from working under the sun every single day, above all his facial expression.

The photo seemed to summarize the look of a typical Filipino father, hardworking, not minding the difficulties and exhaustion, trying to withstand everything, just so he could feed his family.

How about you, what's your personal favorite among these photos? Did it somehow remind you of your childhood? Did it make you appreciate the fishermen more? Did it somehow make you more grateful that you don't have to go through these physically exhausting job just to have something to eat? Did it make you appreciate your life more?

This morning as you wake up, you'll turn on the TV, make yourself a cup of coffee, have some nice breakfast, its probably some chill time for you because its a Sunday. You might be eager to go out because you're bored and you wanted to go to the mall and unwind because its been an exhausting week and you feel so depressed.

I hope these photos reminds us that at this moment, some people are struggling just to get through this day. That some are not born lucky, and while some kids play, some are...

This post is not to make you feel guilty (well a little bit. Haha.) but this is more of a reminder to me, to all of us, to appreciate what we have. Getting a good and comfortable sleep is already a luxury to some people. May we become more contented and grateful everyday.

Above all, I hope this makes us realize that its not about where we are, what we're doing, whether its a sunny or a gloomy day, its always how we accept things, and how we make the most of what life throws at us.

Surely is money can give us a comfortable life. But at the end of the day, its all up to us to choose what we value most. I hope we choose relationships over material things, human connection more than anything else, and may we be able to find genuine happiness in simple things. After all that's what we're looking for - happiness.

This post was originally for some sample shots of Canon EOS 1100D, but I got carried away (again). 😑 Haha. Have a wonderful day everyone. Be nice, show appreciation, encourage others, be honest, do not steal, do not lie, don't be an asshole, and grow some balls. Cheers! ☕️
