Here Rattata is getting some food out of what I call the ball cage.
This is a good way to feed long things that will actually lodge in there, like carrot sticks, because it makes them work for some of their food, which is good for both their brains and bodies.
The ball cage is actually a cat toy that's been partially destroyed and then hung up from one of the shelves in the cage by multiple keyrings. It originally had a toy mouse in it which sat in it for a while ignored before the girls decided to destroy it and leave its remains scattered throughout the cage, at which point it became a food toy.
