Peoplephotography by @worldcapture Week 1 - Monk in Saffron Robes at Angkor Wat

Here is my first entry to @worldcapture's Photo Contest. This week's theme is #peoplephotography.

Monk.jpg

I snapped this shot of a monk in his saffron robes passing by during a quiet moment at Angkor Wat, Cambodia.

With nearly 2.2 million visitors last year, finding solitude at Angkor Wat can be a challenge these days. Although my advice to friends who want to visit the Siem Reap area is to venture further out to the lesser known trafficked sites like Prasat Thom, Bang Maleea, or Phimeanakas, magical moments can still be experienced if you have a little patience. Here I capture a lone monk passing by, at the usually very crowded main temple complex of Angkor Wat.

This photo was taken with Nikon D7000.

Thanks to @worldcapture for running the contest!
