This is my FOURTH entry in to the joint contest currently being run by @erikah and @photocircle. I hope to do all seven categories! Thanks to @eoj for encouraging me to participate!
We arrived very early at the City Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan hoping to avoid the crowds. We actually went a bit too early as this striking palace gate was not yet opened. Since it was an Indian Palace, grandeur was expected, but it indeed exceed my expectations. Golden gates mounted by arches that were beautifully and intricately hand painted. The palace gate was also a great glimpse of what we eventually saw on the inside. As soon the gate finally opened, I snapped this photograph of two Indian ladies in their Kurtas walking through.
