Check out Steemparents!

I know that my following isn’t huge but I want to spread the word about this new community that I stumbled upon here in Steemit. It is very new (only a few weeks old) and it goes by @steemparents.
If you actually read my blogs, you already know that I often post about day trips with my son Luke. Family life means a lot to me and I take my job as a #steemdad very seriously. I spend more of my time performing activities that he would like instead of activities that my wife and I would prefer.
Luckily for me Luke seems to enjoy many similar activities as his dad (unfortunate for my wife Sandra). For example this summer we went out and caught his very first fish. He had such a blast that he continuously asks when we can go out again. We did get the chance to go again on our camping trip but unfortunately we were too close to the rapids and all we caught while fishing in the river was a tree. I think my favourite moments from that camping trip were the time we spent together as a family playing board games and racing on our bikes to the bathroom.

If you are a steemian who also often blogs about family life I highly recommend that you check out @steemparents They have also recently started up a discord channel (https://discord.gg/vUgsR5W) to discuss upcoming event and contests. It is also another way to connect with steem moms and steem dads.

If you are interested in @steemparents or just feel like it is a good cause we would love your help in its development. What can you do to help you may ask?

1- Please visit and upvote @steemparents when you can.
2- Use the tag #steemparents #steemmom and #steemdad when you write a post about parenting or family
3- Donations would be great to help kick start the curation and help steemparents spread the love to those writing great posts about families.
4- You could delegate some steem power to steemparents until it can build up some more of its own.
5- Resteeming of this post would be great to help spread the word to others who haven't found the community on their own. I am sure that many of you have larger followings than I do.

My Favourite thing about being a dad

I wanted to finish out this post by talking about my favourite thing about parenting.

Being a Teacher and a coach
The feeling you get when your child learns something new is the greatest feeling in the world. Watching them hit milestones and accomplishing tasks that they have been working hard on is amazing. I can still remember the first day Luke rolled over on the living room floor, the first time he was able to catch a ball, the first time he got onto a bike (with training wheels) and the first time he read a book on his own. I was very competitive growing up and won many competitions, tournaments and awards. I don't think any of these large moments in my life made me feel nearly as proud as these small moments moments in my sons.

If you understand that feeling, then I think that you are a steemparent too!
