Pangolins or scaly anteaters is covered-with fingernail-like scales, which are soft on newborn scaly anteaters (Pangolins ), but harden as the animal matures. The pangolin's scaled body is comparable to a globe artichoke or pine cone. It can roll itself into a ball like a hedgehog, also it can curl up into a ball when threatened.

Pangolins are 5 to 27 kg weigh and long from 30 to 90 cm exclusive of the tail, adult tail length ranges from about 26 to 70 cm. Except for the underside of the body and the sides of the face, it can emit a noxious-smelling chemical from glands near the anus, They have short legs, with sharp and powerful claws which they use for termite mounds and burrowing into ant, dig into trees, ground, and vegetation to find prey and climbing.

The tongues of pangolins are extremely long, large pangolins can extend their tongues as much as 40 cm, with a diameter of only 0.5 cm. Their diet consists of mainly termites and ants, which they capture using their long tongues.
