In this post you will learn how my Paludarium was created
Everything you need for that is:
- a aquarium bigger is better ![20161114_194417.jpg]mine is 150 * 60 * 60cm
- Soil (sand, gravel, lavasplitt)
- a few stones and roots
- a filter
- a few plants for the water and land part
- and a little manual skill
First, you clean the aquarium and put it in the place where it should eventually be because it is filled with the stones extremely heavy.
once it is in place, you can start with the establishment.
I first inserted plexiglas plates where the heavy stone abutments will be, then I put sand in as soil and positioned the first big stones.
Now the other stones are positioned so that a beautiful construction is created. let your imagination play.
In one of the lava stones i have drilled a hole this will form as a waterfall a small highlight in the paludarium.
In this step, I have already laid the hoses for the filter
In the next step, I built the land section and planted the first plants, for the land part I have formed a hollow out of the large visible stones and filled them in the lower part with gravel and above with peat so that the plants also have a substrate which they need.
Now that the basic structure is in place, we can bring in the visible ground for the aquatic plants.
I have decided for wise sand and lavasplitt what makes a great contrast with the spaghetti stones but shet itself.
Next, we fill the paludarium to the desired water level and start planting the aquatic plants.
Now you are almost finished and have created a wonderful living space for the residents.
they just have to move in and you can enjoy your little oasis :)
