Hello Steemians, as I would always say I am a Nigerian and proud to be one, and so while some others say they don't see anything good on this great country, I am of a different opinion as I see a very bright future, only if we do the right thing. Hence I keep calling on the Nigerian youths to rise and make a stand.
It is not news that we have leaders who do not have our interest at heart, leaders who are only concerned about their pockets, continously scheming and plotting new ways of looting our treasury and siphoning funds.
Today I want to draw our attention to what I see as a very tyrannical scheme by these men who call themselves our leaders.
The purpose of this scheme is to ensure that even after they die, this nation (we and our children) shall remain in servitude to their children, and still look up to them for crumbs from the table.
As we look on from the stands, they are perfecting their scheme, they gradually but systematically killing our education system. They have refused to fund education because they know that knowledge is power, our schools have deteriorated into a den of malpractice, where nothing is happening.
Today this great nation formally known for producing world class scholars now produce illiterate graduates who cannot defend themselves, who are not prepared to take up the mantle when these tyrants die, because definitely the tyrants must die.
On the other hand their own children are all in the best schools abroad or in the best private schools in the country which most of us can't afford anyway. It is a well organized scheme, they have all the money which they have looted from us over time, and their children are also the ones getting all the education. And so if Obasanjo dies today, there will be another Obasanjo to replace him, and we keep hearing the same names over time.
It is not a coincidence that after giving our youths guns to kill and get killed so that they can get into power, the sort of empowerment they give these youths at the end of the day after dying for them during elections is to buy wheelbarrows, motorcycles, and transistor radios and distribute to these youths, yet we sing praises for them.
It's time we stood up and stop being fools, it's time we take our stand. As the elections approach come 2019, how many youths are registered voters, how many of us are going to sit at home and say the elections doesn't concern us, how many of us are going to say no we won't sell our votes and conscience.
This tyranny must be resisted, not with guns and placards, not by agitations and protests, but with your vote. It's time we vote in our fellow youths who have been amongst us and felt the pain of this nation.
Its a call to action, a call to make a stand, a call to all the youths to rise, 2019 is just around the corner.
It is time we put an end to the vicious cycle, and bring in new names into the corridors of power. Fresh hands that can get the job done.
Be a patriotic Nigerian, do not involve in election violence, do not sell your voice, make your votes count, because your vote could be that one vote that can bring the desired change we need.
