One of the most suitable definitions of Impact that applies to us a leaders is the one that defines impact to be, " A significant or strong influence or effect"
To make an impact would then be to act or coordinate ourselves such that we affect and influence people
Behavior emanates from thoughts I'm certain that a lot of us are familiar with this chain
Thoughts ->Actions ->Habits -> Character ->lifestyle
Making impact is a therefore a continuous endeavour from a series of deliberate actions
Fela Durotoye once said "people are not interested in what you say until they know that you care about them and the things they care about".
To make impact therefore means we have to acknowledge and celebrate everyone's humanity and the gifts that we can identify in them.
John C Maxwell in one of his famous leadership books said " you have to touch a heart before you lend a hand "
Leadership is influence, to make impact we need to really care about people and that's difference between leaders and Bosses . Bosses only care to get the Job done Leaders care to build capacities that get the job done
To make an impact on everyone ,everywhere we go means we need to be full-time at it. Don't care about people that have money alone. Don't care about poor people alone. Care about Everybody, celebrate our differences and unique giftings and watch people trust you enough to let you tell them what to do, trust you enough to adopt your attitude to life, trust you enough to crave your mentorship etc
People always remember what you do for them when they're in need. Everyone has needs, to make impact we must meet needs. Let's get to meeting needs!!
