This stunt was BMW’s attempt to beat it's previous record within 8 long hours. They broke it more than 143 miles from the preceding record of 51 miles. This made possible by refueling the car while drifting inspired from the fighter jets. The margin of error for this is slim and it could be disastrous that’s why the practiced the stunt a lot of times. They successfully refuel 5 times amidst the difficulty in connecting the fuel hose mid-drift.
