Chelsea boss Antonio Conte had said that he is “a bit of a disaster” with regards to convincing the board of the club to sign new players.

The not too good showing by the side probably necessitated the need for Conte to voice his view on the matter. The Premier League champions failed to make any big signing in the January transfer window.

“I have to speak more with the managers who are very, very good at persuading their clubs to spend money to buy top players,” he stated.

“I think I’m a bit of a disaster to convince the club to buy players. I think in this aspect I can improve a lot.

“I have to learn a lot from other coaches, the managers, in that aspect.”

There has been lot of happenings at the club in recent weeks that cast doubts on the future of the Italian at the club.
Abramovich was reportedly angry that Conte had said he didn’t choose the club’s signings this season.

With the club’s recent unimpressive form, the Uefa champions’ league spot is not assured as the lie in fifth place. The Blues have won just one of their past five games and are two points adrift fourth placed Tottenham who had the upper hand in the north London derby against Arsenal.

The 48- year old stated of his need to be more persuasive in luring high profile names to the club. The failure of the club to secure deals for Alexis Sanchez and Vigil Van Dirk who were earlier linked to the club but ended up at Manchester United and Liverpool respectively prompted this notion of his.

“My task is to try and improve every single player, in every aspect –in terms of mentality also. For this, I’m very good, “he said.

Chelsea goes into Monday’s game against West Brom who sits last on the EPL standing, and who are in dire need of a win tonight. West Brom have won just 3 games in 26 played so far, drawing 11 and losing 12 matches, amassing only 20 points so far.
