BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:20 P.M.) - A Turkish publication released an article on Wednesday alleging that the U.S. and Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) are after "Daesh's gold reserves" in Syria.
The Turkish publication, Yeni Safak, reportedly interviewed Daesh's former finance head "Abu Zeid al-Ambari" about the purpose of the U.S. Coalition's ongoing operation against the terrorist group in Syria.
The former Daesh finance chief claimed that the U.S. and PKK (reference to the YPG and SDF) are after the terror group's seven-ton gold reserves in Syria.
Al-Ambari claimed that 17 tons of silver is currently inside the besieged town of Hajin in southeast Deir Ezzor.
“Only seven people knew where the gold was hidden; two were killed, one went missing; and now the U.S. and PKK are trying to seize the gold,” the former Daesh finance chief added.
