Turkish military kills 7 Kurdish fighters in northern Iraq

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:00 P.M.) - The Turkish military killed seven fighters from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in northern Iraq on Tuesday, the state-owned Anadolu Agency reported.

According to the Anadolu report, the Turkish Air Force killed the 7 PKK fighters after launching a number of airstrikes over the Qandil Mountain region of northern Iraq.

They would add that the Turkish Air Force would also destroy ammunition stocks and PKK hideouts in the Qandil Mountain region.

Turkey has been targeting the PKK positions in northern Iraq for several months now, despite not having Baghdad's approval to carry out such attacks.

The Turkish regime maintains that they are carrying out these operations to clear terrorist cells; however, they have been criticized by the governments of both Iraq and Syria for these incursions.
