Ok, so we took a dive into the networking and we understood a bit regarding what makes up a network and a bit of the functionality regarding vlans.
Now we can take a look at the core switch, this is basically the switch that is in the center off all communications, all access switches pass their traffic to the core switch which based on its capability of routing , knows where to pass the traffic to.
For example, if a user sends a request to another user on a different subnet, the traffic will route to the core switch, the core switch will then look at the packets and deliver to the end user on the other subnet based on routing protocols.
We understand now how traffic traverses the network through the core however we don't really understand as yet how the access switches physically connects to the core switch so we will take a look at that in the next post.
