I suppose you would need to be a Kevin Hart fan to appreciate this docu series but these days it seems as though pretty much everyone is a Kevin Hart fan. This isn't the first series that Hart has done with Netflix, but in my opinion, it is the best one.

This docuseries is a bit different from those I have seen in the past in the way that it really dives into Kevin's personal life, even the embarrassing stuff that I am sure he would prefer we all forget. This notion is highlighted in the fact that they focus on the scandal surrounding him cheating on his then pregnant-wife and how it was captured on camera. They even interview his wife about this incident.

We get to see into Hart's rather poor upbringing and how his father wasn't really a part of his life and to be honest with you, the scenes where his dad is interacting with Kevin's toddler made me uneasy (and i think that was the point.)
This show was a real eye-opener to me because I am one of those people that tend to think that celebrities are just surrounded by an easy life and have everything handed to them on a silver plate but watching Kevin's routine and how much this dude works makes me understand the business a bit better. This dude is constantly working and it shows.

We also get to meet his close group of advisers and confidantes, who travel with him on tour and I don't mean to sound a bit vindictive here, but they kind of seem like "hanger-ons" to me. Kevin has known all of these guys since he was a kid so I think it is safe to say that at least to a certain degree, they probably are hanger-ons. Whatever, if i made it big I would take my pals with me too even if they were talentless.

I think it is useful if you already are a Kevin Hart fan in order to enjoy this, but it isn't essential. The series is fast-moving and each episode kind of stands on its own. I have a new-found respect for the amount of work that Hart puts into his trade after seeing it and was far more entertained then I thought i would be.
It also made me feel that Kevin is a really nice person but that might have been part of the reason why this was made as well. Kevin might be over-exposing himself with this, because the market is already saturated with him. He seems to know what he is doing though, and with a net worth of $150 million, I think it is safe to say that he does.
