My real name is M-A-Y-L-Y-N, not Mylene, not Maylin, never Marlin.
Though it was spelled as the 5th Month, the correct pronunciation of my name's first syllable is /mī/ same as the determiner "My". It is actually the Filipino word for "has/have". My mother's nickname is "Len" so she named my elder sisters as "CathyLENE" and "ReynaLYN". When I was born and they were thinking about how to name me, she said...
"Anything that has LYN on it"
(In Tagalog, "Kahit ano basta may LYN sa dulo")
And that's how they come up with my name. Hope you got it.
I use this phrase as a signature or my tagline, for my love one's to remember my name and to remind them how I love them.
(MAY) "My
(L) Love for
(Y) you will
(N) never end"
A promise for an endless love.
That's why, for me, my name means "Endless Love". Because that's what true love means for me, Eternal, like God's Love and a Mother's Love to her child.
Each letter also somehow describes my personality. I am...

The '09 is my birth date and my lucky number. In numerology, it is the symbol of wisdom and initiation. It is also the number of Universal love, eternity and faith. In Chinese, it has the same pronunciation with "Jiu", meaning "Everlasting".
Why did I chose to use my real name as my Steemit username?
Simply because this is me! I have nothing to hide. I want people and steemians to address me by my real name because I am more comfortable with it. A person's name is the greatest connection to their own identity and individuality. For me, addressing someone by his or her real name shows politeness and respect.
Given the chance to be able to change it, will you?
In my opinion, changing my name is like changing my personality, to be anonymous or to pretend like someone else. So, it's a no-no for me because...
This is real, this is me.
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, now.
Gonna let the light, shine on me
Now I found who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I wanna be
This is me!
