Life: A Vacuum

image

I have been thinking so much about life and the emptiness in it. The book of job said the days of man are few (Job 14:1).

The Psalmist also said teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom (Ps 90:12)

Of late I have been hearing of how much people struggle to make ends meet to only have their lives cut shot. In some other cases we find people who work so hard and end up with nothing, some others achieve so much success of to have heirs who waste everything.

Life seems to be a vacuum, the more we move closer to getting what we want, the more we long for more. We seem to never get enough, something inside of us constantly seeks to have more.

A wise man once said the wants of man are like dirt, there is always room for more. We always want more, never too much, never enough and always too little. I tend to wonder why we have this nature when all will be left behind someday.

I came across a statement that caught my attention some days back

People may forget what we said, what we did but they will never forget how we made them feel.

In my opinion, what matters at the end of our lives is not how much houses, cars, wive (lol) we accumulate that counts. It's the lives that we touch that matters, the impact we make and the love we share that we will be remembered for.

Since life is a vacuum, and we never get enough, why don't we dedicate it to becoming a blessing to our environment.
Becoming a channel of joy is what I have made up my mind to be. What about you?
