Three tune Tuesday and Fat Boys Slim getting us a coffee and a croissant!

Introduction

@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!

Our picks

This week we are all about Fat Boys Slim. We picked him as we are going to see him next Friday and have been listening to him a lot in preparation of going to see him. We are lucky in Brighton as he is our local legend and one of the boys is frequently remixing his stuff and sending it to him. He also stalks him and probably should have a restraining order on him. We also have a quite casual relationship with Fat Boy and he has served us a coffee and a chat many times at his Big Beach Cafe down the road from us on the beach. During the pandemic he was there a lot and always up for a chat. Although we were in the queue once and the lady in front of us said to him "What do you do?" and he said I am a DJ.....then she walked away looking very embarrassed!

Song 1

OK this is classic early Fat Boy Slim. As a young producer working in studios in London I found his work inspirational. His use of samples and filters to create his big beat sound was something I listened to again and again. It was some of the freshest production out there and this song is one of the ones I always loved!

Song 2

Now this one is quite an iconic song for me and my family. It has more hip hop roots than some of his more dancy tunes with the classic Hip hop scream. We have been in Brighton a long time and when Mini SUB was about 5 he hit Fat Boy in a big way and we would have this on in the car a lot and would sing along. He is Brighton through and through and he used to sing it to people outside of the car....cause there were not from Brighton...although I do remember quite often skipping "Fat boys slim is fu**ing in heaven".....

Song 3

The third song I am choosing is a slightly later one and I remember as the video is just killer with Christopher Walken is incredible. The song has all the classic trademarks of the Fat Boy song however it is definitely the video that makes it standout from the crowd. Often heralded as one of the greatest music videos of all time he definitely deserves a watch.

Bonus song!

Just in case you need a wake up call though I would put this on the list too as a bonus song!

We love all types of music and hope that you like our choices!

Big up all the music in the world and the joy we get making and listening to it!
