6 Underrated Songs from The Beatles (and my favourites)

Everybody knows The Beatles. Everybody can sing "Hey Jude" or "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds". However, the most famous songs sometimes hide some gems. When something is well-known, it's hard to go beyond the feeling that you know it already and to go discover more.

The band wrote more than 400 songs. Here is a list of some of my favourites.

1. I'm Only Sleeping

It's the first song with a backwards guitar solo, which produces a very special effect.

2. Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!

For the Benefit of Mr. Kite
It is said that a circus poster was the inspiration of this song with a carnival atmosphere...

3. Blue Jay Way

A dark song from Magical Mystery Tour, written by George Harrison when he arrived in Los Angeles for the first time.
Blue Jay Way is a street in Hollywood, where Harrison had rented a house and was waiting for his friends.

4. Dear Prudence

A song from the White Album.

5. Rocky Raccoon

A folk song that shows that The Beatles could compose in very different styles, and could tell stories !

6. Honey Pie

Following the short song Wild Honey Pie in the same album, Honey Pie is McCartney's declaration of love to a girl who made it in the USA.
