Is ai going to end sampling?

My personal opinion on this subject
The new AI tool developed by Google, called "Data Transfer Project," is not specifically designed to reveal what artist sampled in music. Instead, it is a tool that allows users to transfer their personal data, including music playlists and other media files, between different online services.

While this tool may make it easier for people to identify the original source of a sample used in a particular song, it does not necessarily threaten music sampling as a practice. Music sampling has been a common technique used in music production for decades, and it has become an integral part of many genres of music.

Moreover, the legality of music sampling depends on several factors, including the extent of the sample used, whether the sample is recognizable, and whether permission has been obtained from the original artist or copyright holder. Therefore, the use of AI technology to identify samples does not necessarily mean that sampling will become illegal or obsolete.

In summary, while the new AI tool developed by Google may make it easier to identify the original source of a sample in music, it does not necessarily threaten music sampling as a practice. The legality and cultural relevance of music sampling will continue to depend on various factors beyond the use of AI technology.

What is sampling?
Music sampling is the practice of using pre-existing sound recordings, often from different songs, and incorporating them into a new piece of music. This can involve taking a small portion of a sound recording, such as a drum beat, guitar riff, or vocal phrase, and using it as a foundation for a new musical composition.

Sampling has been a popular technique in hip-hop, electronic music, and other genres since the 1980s. Some artists use sampling to pay homage to the music that has influenced them, while others use it to create new sounds and textures in their own music.
