When I heard for the first time "Crush" by Dave Matthews Band, I was blown away.
The song starts with a cool bass line and builds up to fantastic jam-like part with saxophone, violin, guitar, penny whistle... All instruments are woven one into another and create a gently patterned musical carpet.
When I listen to the song, it smoothly takes me to an urban wasteland of passion and desire. I'm not sure if what I just wrote makes sense and I think it's the greatness of the song, it makes you feel in the way that is hard to describe.
The song was released in 1998 as the third single from Dave Matthews Band album "Before These Crowded Streets".
