Happy Halloween! Movie Post

Hey guys, it’s been awhile! I’m back to offer up some movies for you in honor of Halloween. Let’s get started.

  1. It Stains the Sands Red (2017)

Molly is a bit of a broken soul. She is on her way through the desert with her jerk of a boyfriend. Before they can meet up with their criminal friends in Las Vegas, their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. With spotty cell service and no other living soul around things go from bad to worse. Soon Molly finds herself stalked by a very relentless pursuer who needs neither sleep nor water. Molly begins to filter through some of her issues as she attempts to outrun her past and the horrifying pursuer that is just as unwilling to let her go.

  1. High Tension (2003)

On a school break, two college friends Marie and Alexia go home to Alexia’s family farm. Things are kind of slow burning for about fifteen minutes, then all he’ll breaks loose. Once the action starts it doesn’t let up, and you will be terrified and watching through your fingers. I don’t want to give anything away, but there will be gore and if you like pissing yourself in fear, this one is for you! It is a French movie, but there are English dubs, if you’re a total heathen.

  1. Trick r’ Treat (2007)

This is a great little horror anthology that packs 5 great stories into an eventual single basket. It’s got lots of fun tropes with a really fun twist that has surprise and revenge. We get cute trick or treaters, skanky college kids, a crotchety old man who brings down the wrath of Halloween, and more. My favorite line is when dad tells little Billy to go watch The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown special, and little Billy responds cynically that “Charlie Brown’s an asshole”. This one is scary at times, but like a pillowcase of scored treats, has something for everyone.

  1. As Above, So Below (2014)

A group of people go deep into the French catacombs to try to solve an ancient mystery. As they go deeper, things get creepier and more claustrophobic and confusing. The characters are faced with their own painful pasts as they try to dig themselves out of the deep grave they threw themselves into. Will they find the puzzle piece needed to see the light of day again?

I hope you are able to find something new from this list for your Halloween viewing enjoyment. Some of my favorite classics are the original Halloween, House of 1000 Corpses, and Friday the 13th, but you’ve probably seen those, right? If not, get on it. Please share your favorite Halloween stuff in the comments (costumes, movies, pranks, carved pumpkins, etc).
