GAMFA First outreach at University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria, Africa
P.S - GAMFA is a personal but community targeted initiative of the GAMFA team ( a group of steemians passionate about development, individual financial freedom, and eradication of poverty in Africa through investment in gold), and does not in anyway have any direct connection with the Goldmoney company or Mene company.

We decided to embark on the first GAMFA outreach in Uyo, Akwa-ibom state Nigeria, which is about 11 hours drive by bus from Lagos state Nigeria. Having left Lagos at around 10am GMT, I arrived Uyo around 9PM GMT.
I had to lodge in a hotel since I arrived at night. The hotel was really nice, comfortable and affordable. Here are some pics.
The next day, I headed over to the University of Uyo to begin the awareness campaign. I visited 2 faculties in the school. I spoke to about 30 different people on that day. Out of 30 of them, about 20 of them indicated interest in buying mene gold. Most of them were skeptical about me taking their photos, but some were okay with that.
Here are some photos from the outreach.

While we spoke with the interested students, we noticed that their major challenge was raising the funds to buy the mene gold. So we came up with a plan. We decided we would group them in groups of 3's, so that they can find it easier to raise the funds for the jewelry.
Gladly this plan worked, and one of the groups we formed was able to contribute funds and made our first mene gold purchase, and we are awaiting its arrival here in Nigeria, Africa.
We were really glad with the way our first outreach turned out. We made sure to get the whatsapp details of the the interested students we spoke to, and formed a whatsapp group for them, so they could easily communicate with each other.
GAMFA will be heading over to our next location, which will be the University of Portharcourt, Rivers state, Nigeria.
But, as is our custom and as lovers of art, we make sure to visit the fine and visual art department of the school we visit, to view some lovely art works. Here are some of the photos for your viewing pleasure:
I really loved this image. The fellow above is surely going through a lot to keep that weight held up high.
You dont need anyone to tell you this fellow is a hiphop star. Sagging, with no shirts on, and with some chains on his neck is surely his dresscode.
If you have never seen an African masquerade, then there you have it. The halloween customs worn on halloween is the european version of the African Masquerade.
A sculpture of Samson and the lion he killed.
A half human and half robot.
And that wraps up our journey at the University of Uyo. It was such a lovely time, as we head over to another school in another city - University of Portharcout, Rivers state, Nigeria.
Thanks to all those who have supported GAMFA thus far, especially to @goldmatters. A big shout And that wraps up our journey at the University of Uyo. It was such a lovely time, as we head over to another school in another city - University of Portharcout, Rivers state, Nigeria.
Thanks to all those who have supported GAMFA thus far, especially to @goldmatters. A big shout out to @autofreak, our first partner from Nigeria. We would not stop until we have mene gold in the hands of every African, thereby empowering them to invest for their future in PURE, QUALITY, AND ACCESSIBLE 24 KARAT GOLD.
Thanks, and keep steeming.
