Better than crypto

Investing in a ship is better than investing in crypto. Because it is more real, you can feel and touch a ship!

Plus it is just a fascinating industry. More interesting than crypto!

I hope you like this series I am doing on the fascinating world of ships.

If you don't like my posts just tell me and I will find something else to post about. NOOOOTTTTT!!!

Did you see the cool quote in my last post? If not check it out and you will see what I mean about it being a cool industry.

What other forms of funds, besides the KG fund, exist that provide returns to investors based on shipping market operations?

FINANCIAL FIRMS OPERATING IN THE SHIPPING MARKET

It happens especially in the Anglo Saxon world.

Almost purely financial firms operate in the shipping market without buying and selling ships.

They may even have no or just a rudimentary knowledge about the KG (Limited Liability Partnership) model of ship finance. Because it doesn't really apply to the vessels that they invest in.

DRY BULK VS. CONTAINER VESSELS

Some shipping hedge funds only operate in the dry bulk market.

The container market is controlled by a relatively small number of large ship operators and this kind of environment does not provide good entry conditions for new entrants.

Hedge funds that specialize in exploiting arbitrage opportunities, are especially unsuited for this market.

They profit from transactions that exploit discrepancies between spot prices and futures prices.
