Welcome to Majorelle Park
The Majorelle Garden in Marrakech is one of the most visited sites in Morocco. French painter Jacques Majorel (1886-1962) took forty years of passion and dedication to create this charming garden in the heart of the "oz city".
We are along suspicious lanes, in the midst of trees and exotic plants of dreamy origin. We walk past refreshing, streams of burbling and pools filled with water lilies and lotus flowers. We hear the tunnel in the air, loaded with sugar fragrance, stealing leaves and chucking many birds who come here for refuge. Stopping, the track turns unexpectedly, revealing a building with Moroccan charm, with a hint of Art Deco, painted in stunningly vibrant basic colors, and glowing with intense blue artist seen in the Atlas Mountains. We are calm and enchanting by the harmony of these luxuriant and vivid images, which produce a sensitive call to the senses, offering us a soothing sloping near, yet far from the bustling city, protected from time by high clay walls.
