How To Stop Losing Things

I like storing things in where I would place it when I'm tired.
Example my keys are hanged up on the back of my door (I use a jacket hanger and hang the with snap hooks) so it's the last thing I see when I leave and the first when I enter. that and when I'm actively moving and I see it not in it's spot I, in that moment, place it where it belongs. I also have a second home for things. so if my hands are full,for example, I most likely place items on the bench or kitchen counter and thats also where I would drop my keys. But after packing up, they'll go back on the rack.
Other things could be the need pre-planning. I tend to loose things when I'm rushing and don't have a clear plan or deviate from the main goal.
