The end of the world countdown

Link

The world will end on Tuesday, January 17 at 23:59 (eighteen minutes to midnight in Metric Time, 2010) due to the impact of a meteor. The news spreads quickly, but there is nothing anyone can do. The only solution is to be prepared and be at the ready.

On Tuesday morning, the day before the world will end, in an east-coast town called Anytown, there is a man sitting in a bath. His name is Priyank, and he has to confront his deepest fear, in order to make the world the way it needs to be for the people that live in it. He needs to let go of his fear, and He needs to let it go on Tuesday.

He can't wait any more. He needs to jump off the cliff, tomorrow.

Sitting in the bath and staring up the cliff. He'll jump, and free him of his fear. The world will be better that way. It is all he wants to do, and he has to do it. He must. If he doesn't...

Priyank looks up at the cliff, and his heart starts beating violently. He swallows, and begins to sweat, and then he thinks...

As I arrived at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, I stood in line with my colleagues. I was there to help the scientists notice a comet. It was my first time ever being there, and it made me nervous.

I wrote a book about the world and I was in a place where many believe science ended. Science moved on, however the world still exists, and it wasn't the same world.

The leaders of the world had promised to do urgently important things... things that would make Britain a better place. I believe that these people lied, and that they were ulteriorly motivated, and now they have been condemned and put on trial.

I felt slowly better as the day wore on. I chose a seat by a window, and it was a good view, even though I arrived almost two hours late.

I was sitting next to a gentleman who had been there since three o'clock in the afternoon, and he smiled and said "hi". He then said "Dan", and I replied with a "hi" and a smile back. I thought it was a good start.

I asked him "have you been waiting long?", and he said "I have. I arrived here at three o'clock.

I asked him "why are you here?". He said "I'm here for a show. A big show. It's supposed to be the greatest show that has ever been." This made me happy to hear, and I said "oh, a show? I am here too. Well, I guess we're both here for the same show!"

He chuckled and said "I guess so." and then he said "you've been here a lot longer than I have. Did you get here at three o'clock?". I was sitting there without my watch, and I said "oh my, I didn't realize." and then I said "yeah, I got here a few minutes before four o'clock.".

As the show started, a few people let out a very loud sound. There was a lot of feet stomping on the ground, making an exciting beat. He looked at me and said "that sounds cool!".

The man in front of me started walking away, and I said "oh, is someone leaving?", and he said "yes! That was me!" and then I said "ah. So, you picked your seat earlier, and you decided the best place to sit is right the heart of the area!"

I spent the entire show looking at him, and it felt like I had known him forever. He was a nice person. He had a sense of humor that made me smile and laugh, and ever little thing he said made me happy to hear.
