In the apocalyptic future, roving tribes travel with various degrees of technology that they have found along the way in cities and museums. Rumor has it that there is a military arsenal buried somewhere in the Rocky Mountains and all tribes race toward it. It is your job to make sure none of them find it to avoid another nuclear holocaust .
Setting of the Story:
As the game begins, you are driving out of the Commonwealth, away from the ever expanding military, away from the destruction. A small group of mutants, one of the tribes, is getting stolen away by lizard people in some city tied to the central government. They need your help to rescue the rest of your team.
As the story progresses, it will be important to keep an eye on every direction. There are multiple threats in this world, so you can never be too careful. Dare not see a sign on one direction or another and you may be caught off guard by your enemies.
Soon enough, the player finds himself in yet another military base, this time in the Rockies. The player must fight his way through the heart of the base in order to ensure that the military does not regain control of technologies that were transferred there for safe keeping.
The final boss, you think, has finally arrived. It is some evil entity, an alien if you will. You face this boss, you start to pummel it as hard as you can, when all of a sudden, the fight is over within seconds. The alien... Disappeared. You realize that he has been using you to protect him from the big bad over lord that has been hunting him throughout the land. You realize you have been used.
You meet a ghost at this point, who seems to know you well. He is some kind of overseer or guardian angel, or something of the sort. He explains to the player that this alien demon that the player has been stumbling about for the last quarter of the game is actually him, just one of his forms. He explains that he has been searching for peace and love in the universe but the only way he realized he could do that was to destroy everything in the universe, including the universe itself. As it turns out, the player is a she. The player has been experiencing everything in the game through a clone of his/her soul. The player is the clone. The clone has been gathering energy to be used in the final summoning of the destroyer, the she demon of the apocalypse herself.
The ghost explains that you are the player, and the player is the ghost. The player is the player, and the player is the ghost. The two become intertwined as the player is pulled along this death-race like procession toward the big final showdown with the demon she demon of death itself.
We finish the story just as the player is about to be killed by the demon she demon of death itself. It says the player is floating up into the air, the demon approaching from below, ready to kill the player's fake soul that was plaguing her. It says the player is changing into the demon, looking at the demon from the inside out.
