The Linux PUblic Broadcasting had an office at the Power House in Venice and Tao used to call LPBN the sister organization of LAFCO, the Los Angeles Filmmakers Cooperative. LPBN's motto was and still is "Weaving the spirit of open source throughout the social fabric." Now, cryptocurrency mechanically accomplishes this transforming function of society. I believe Steemit is very much a part of the spirit of open source software.
