Hello everyone! Today i want to talk about something that has been plaguing my country for the last decade or so. And that thing is Poverty. I'm going to show you how Poverty effects a Society on a mental and physical level.
Education.
Education is vital to a society. We all need to learn how to write and read, but also learn how the world works around us. But for many Poor Families Education isn't possible or viewed as useless. I have seen many of my class mates quit school because their Families forced them to quit to work on a day job. Or quitting because they lack schools in their area and their families can't pay for their traveling. And Education is vital to breaking the cycle of Poverty, more educated people equals more quality jobs. That's why Countries need to focus on the future of children, build more schools for them, offer free public transportation for Families who can't afford it and Educate Parents that their child needs to be Schooled. Now let's throw some stats and move to my next talking point.
1.There are more than 124 million primary or secondary school-aged children who are not in school around the world.
2.The cost of providing 13 years of education for a child living in a developing country is around $1.18 a day.
3.Nearly 800 million people do not have the basic ability to read or write.
4.According to WE Charity, $26 billion more each year would give every person a basic education, which is “less than five percent of what the U.S. military spent in 2015.”
Crime.
Poverty also attributes the Crime rates. In fact i see it everyday in my community. Where people get kicked out of school and fired from their jobs and instead of trying again learning from their mistakes, they get into Crime. They get tired, they give up and see all these people making easy money from stealing or selling drugs so they get in the bandwagon. Education effects the crime rates too. People who didn't go to school or couldn't find a job for them this is all they know and they keep doing it. Not all of the people are like that but the majority is. Crime also scares away entrepreneurs who were looking to invest back into their community, but because there is a lot instability they can't invest. And that results in less jobs and a lot more suffering to the innocent people, who work hard for a better future.
So what are my thoughts on poverty? I think we should try to help each other and never give up, no matter how hard it gets. And of course that will require a lot of sacrifice and hard work but in the end it will be worth it.
Thanks for reading guys! Hope you enjoyed this post. Please leave your thoughts in the comments down below. I know there are more effects of poverty, but i wanted to focus only on these two. Since these effect my country the most.
