Today was a very special day!
Why? Because of peppers! I enjoyed some time over at @mericanhomestead earlier helping clean up some downed trees with some others like @shalomacres, and not only did I get a great lunch out of the deal, I got some amazing peppers!
CHECK THESE OUT!
First off, @mericanhomestead let me know that they had amazing & hot purple peppers growing in the garden, and that I was free to enjoy some and take some home. In case you didn't know, I'm a purple pepper eater! I've never grown any like this before, but just check out that color. Plus, like many other peppers, they ripen to red.
Just next to them were some very interesting little, yellow, round peppers. I've encountered different kinds of "bird's eye" or Chiltepin peppers before, but they always transitioned from green to red, and not to yellow. What interesting little peppers, and what striking plants!
They really are a cool looking pepper. I like adding just a couple of these to jars of pickles or other things I make to turn up the spice a little. I can't wait to save some seeds and grow my own next year! Hopefully.
Then, once Monster Truck and I were done with our helping out for the day, @hansjurgen offered me a gift. He actually uprooted an entire mature Cayenne pepper plant for me! How cool is that? Unlike some of the super-hot peppers that I'm saving and drying by cutting them in half, these peppers can be dried whole, and they look lovely hanging dried in the kitchen awaiting their turn to be used. All in all, it was a wonderful day so far full of amazing blessings!
As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:
