A summer I’ll always remember and the people I will never forget. I had experienced the best summer of my life. Despite the need of attending the Summer Enrichment Program, I enjoyed being in a class with strangers that might be my classmates in the future. I experienced change. I got used in being a class with only girls but now it’s different. I guess it’s a challenge for me to face. It’s time for me to start focusing on my studies to be able to receive a diploma and get a good job in the future. I decided to study at Naga City Science High School to enhance my knowledge and to experience a new environment with new people and a new me.

Before studying at NCSHS, we needed to attend or join the Summer Enrichment Program where they check or test how much knowledge or how much do we know about a certain subject. There, we had lessons in English, Mathematics, Science and ICT. I learned a lot. Then, we had a tour at Raul S. Roco Public Library and at Museo ni Jesse M. Robredo. It was my first time going to a public library and I was amazed to see a lot of books. I mean, I have been to a library, a school’s library to be exact, but a public library is way more different. It was really a great experience for me. Next, we went to the museum where we learned about the life of former Mayor Jesse Robredo. I was inspired by his will and determination to change Naga City for the better. He helped the poor to speak for themselves. He built houses for the homeless and fed the hungry. I was so amazed to see the clothes he wore and the things he used. The last stop was at Jollibee Magsaysay. We had our lunch there. It was also my first time to eat as a big batch in a restaurant. You can tell that we were very noisy. We ate noisily and then we went in separate ways. That was the end of the tour.

This Summer Enrichment Program taught me a lot of things and one of those things is to not judge a book by its cover. I realized that behind an ugly face lies a beautiful personality. I realized that not all students from public schools are bad. There are also kind, funny and amazing people. I’ve always thought that students from public schools were weird just because I was from a private school but now, I have registered in my mind that we are all just the same. Despite the differences we have, we are all still the same. That was my summer experienced.
See you again guys!
