I've mentioned across a few posts now that I've been unemployed for a while. Ten months, more or less, with the wolves circling and the belt getting tighter and tighter to survive.
Well, it is with an almost illegal amount of joy that I get to announce that I am now employed once again!
Starting this Monday, I will be finally starting a new role and closing this whole ugly chapter in my life, getting my debts paid and rebuilding my savings.
The last year has taught me a lot. I've learned to never be too comfortable at work, as lightning can strike any time. I've learned to be humble. I've learned to appreciate what I have.
Most importantly, I've learned that the unions - just like the management - have nothing to lose, and use those with everything to lose to make their points. I won't make the mistake of thinking they had my back.
It's been a bumpy ride, but my perseverance has finally paid off. Here's hoping - if not for a long career - at least a long enough one.
