Flatlanders and cheese

It’s days like today that I come to really understand the nickname “flat lander”.

São Paulo is full of hills and turns designed to erode any ideas of walking long distances. I did however pick a path and went to town for about an hour, found some familiar things of course, the franchises that no foreigner should be impressed or curious about but I also found a little treasure, a local bakery.

It was in this fine establishment where I was introduced to traditional Brazilian cheese bread. I grant you it does not sound impressive, but what it lacks in name it makes up for in taste. It was available in the classic bite size puffs as well as the more suited “don’t kid yourself size”. On top of that they had some cheese bread jazz options as well.

Enter the Guayaba

I bought one of these little treats just to reward myself for climbing the little hills. One has to replenish energy of course and I did it in the name of science. Don’t for a second accuse me of falling for carbs or anything that unbecoming.

I’m also arriving to the conclusion that some cab drivers have been bamboozling me with their fares. I noticed a way shorter route back to the hotel that they seem to conveniently avoid when Im catching a ride back.

It’s ok I guess, I’m still within the trips budget and with only a few days I’m not about to starting looking for the cat’s fifth leg.

Ending second daily transmish....
