Mushroom Tripping In The Olympics 🍄 / First Time Experiencing Bioluminescence 🌀

There aren't too many things that I love to do more than ingesting psychedelics on the beach. I'm sure we could think of all the great places to do drugs, but for me my top three places are music festivals, in the mountains, or by water. Maximum bonus points awarded to the places that cover all three. My favorite substances over my short adult lifetime have been marijuana, mushrooms, LSD, DMT, and mescaline. Even though I've only done mescaline once, it's still one of my most memorable experiences.

This trip all started last week when one of my long time friends from 2012 asked me if I'd like to go camping with her for Labor Day weekend. For the respect of her privacy we can call her B. I met her back when I first started to go to electronic music shows through mutual friends. Our group of friends got together so we could carpool to the Electric Daisy Carnival 2012 in Las Vegas. We haven't had a lot of time to hang out over the years so I felt like this would be a good opportunity to get to know her more. I had no reason why I shouldn't go so it was a no brainer. I felt I deserved it because I just finished grinding out three weeks of work and it was Labor Day weekend, plus I've haven't camped on the Pacific coast yet.

It was B's birthday weekend so she already had a place in mind she wanted to go. She picked out Second Beach by La Push, Washington. My last day of my work period was Friday so we decided it would be best to leave early around 7:00 am the next morning on Saturday. Before we left I made sure to get an ounce of Amazonian Cubensis for us. B brought two hits of acid to split.

B picked me up near Tacoma, WA and we made our journey north towards Bremerton and Port Angeles. It was about a three and a half hours to get where we had to be. Before we could set up camp we had to purchase a permit and rent a bear canister from a ranger station so we could store our food without being fined. The bear can is a small barrel shaped container with a lid that has a couple twist pins that lock it from animals. The permit is about usual camp ground prices for state parks. $16 per night with a coastal view sounded great to me.

We thought the station in Port Angeles would be a good idea since it was along the way. When we got to the station there was a line of at least one hundred campers. The line of people went down the ramp to the left of the door at least forty feet and back over, with tons of people still inside. Hikers were coming out every ten seconds or so but the line maybe moved five feet the whole time we were there. A ranger ended up coming outside to let us know that if we're going to La Push then we could go to the Mora Ranger Station because it would be faster. The wait time would have been over a hour and a half so we decided to go to Mora. I didn't expect so many people to be out and about so that was surprising to see.

The total driving time was estimated to be three hours and forty minutes. The only stops we made along the way were for gas and groceries. The lake above is Lake Cresent about an hour and a half east from La Push. We arrived at the Mora Station around 12:30 in the afternoon. Just in time too, after we got in line there were two groups in front of us. By the time our paperwork was done we had four groups behind us. The rangers were polite and experienced. He was able to tell us everything we needed to know about where we chose and what to expect.

We got parked and ready for our walk in close to 2:00 pm. From the parking lot it is a .77 mile hike. Walking in was the easy part because there is less time spent walking up hill. I didn't get many pictures of the walk but you get to walk through the forest with tons of evergreen trees surrounding you the whole way. There were steps framed with wood on most of the hill sides so you don't slip walking the up and down hill.

This was our view for the two nights we spent at Second Beach. It was a view I'll remember forever because the rocks had cool shapes to them. In the picture above, the second rock from the left had a top that was super straight and looked flat. I joked with B that either God cut it or it was aliens. I'm sure there's a reason why it looks that way, maybe native Americans or possibly just erosion.. or aliens. 👽

After we got camp set up on the far right of the beach we decided it was time for the shrooms and a couple drinks. We sat in our tent and ate four stems and four caps each. So maybe a little less than an eighth of an ounce each.

Soon enough we got some neighbors camped next to us. It was a group of three tents with college aged students. I try not to be judgemental but they were the frat types that party like high schoolers. They went out there without permits, canisters, or any kind of self-responsibility. We were starting to trip by this point so B and I introduced ourselves and I ended up taking their group photo for them. It was a funny experience because I was high enough to where I forgot to make a countdown when I took the pictures. The first couple people posing in front were smiling so whatever. I try to be friendly as long as I can. They started to play their music loud and another guy was saying vulgar phrases about staring at a girl's pussy at some party. It just wasn't shit you'd say in front of girls in my opinion. This guy was loud enough we could hear him from our camp. It was about nine at night so we decided eat more mushrooms and get away from them.

Here's our tent at night. I thought it looked great because we could even see it from far away. We ended up walking maybe a half mile away by this huge island rock where the tide was low. There were these two girls dancing in the puddles and low water. They walked over to us and told us to shut off our flashlights. The girls kicked the water again and it lit up a bright blue/teal color! "Whoa," I said. "I've never seen anything like that." They were super nice and had really good vibes. I'm glad they let us know about the bioluminescence in that area otherwise we might not have noticed for a long time.

The girls ended up dancing away and going back to shore after a few minutes. But us, we ended up staying out there for a couple hours. We spaced out kicking water for so long that my shoes were soaked by the end of it. It looks so amazing when you see it first hand. To me it looked like blue stars rippling. You could step down and each step would light up around your foot. It was like an Avatar experience because it felt so surreal. With the mushrooms it made the light have fractals that would spin from the light. It blew my mind so much that I had a psychedelic induced epiphany.

I came to the realization that every step we take in life has a light to it. Sometimes we can't see our own light, other times we see the light in people when they can't see it themselves. It's there in all of us. We can all claim an importance in the world we are experiencing by taking the time to observe our light within us and others. How happy do you get when someone compliments you or tells you something they notice about you. I stood there thinking about this to myself, I didn't want to get us stuck in deep thoughts so I kept it in my mind.

Then we got hypnotized watching the waves coming in. The waves would turn a bright fluorescent color as they would curl and crash on to itself. You could see these waves for a few hundred feet out there and it was intense how vivid the light was. Again the light would have tracers and spinning fractals as the light fades. The mushrooms are doing their job well at this time. B had some happy tears from how beautiful it was to us. We had a big hug and I think we stood in that one spot for at least 20 minutes loving the scene. The rest of the ocean was a dark blackish, purple color so the only light out was from the bacteria. You could see the silouettes of the rocks but just very faintly.

This was from earlier in the evening. Almost right after we ate more shrooms to get away from the other camp. The day was clear and warm so we got a chance to see all of the stars above.

It was about 11:30 pm when we got back to camp. Our neighbors were all laying down with their fire pretty much out. Two people were laying in the sand while their friend tryied to get them into a tent. From my understanding there was a fight. I guess the guy who was saying vulgar shit got punched out of nowhere so it ruined their party. Is karma supposed to happen that fast? Their night was over before midnight with people mad at each other. Like I said before, frat kids with high school mentality.

B and I went into our tent and turned on some music. She had this really cool playlist made up of Zeke Beats, Of The Trees and a few other artists that had a earthy psychedelic sound. We layed there eating more shrooms and making jokes about everything that has happened to us so far. The music was phenomenal with the visuals that would happen when I would shut my eyes. When I closed my eyes the colors would create little fractal puzzle pieces that would open and close to the colors next to each other in a spiraling motion. We stayed up listening to music in the tent until around 3.

When we woke up our neighbors were starting to get packed up and ready to go. Either they were going to a new campground or they ended their trip. I didn't feel too bad about it because we didn't really like their enegry. They got drunk way too fast. Them and a few camps along the beach decided to leave. We ended up moving our camp closer to the trail where we both felt better about because of it's closeness to the water. Here's our second spot.

Today was the acid and more mushroom day. We ended up dosing at 2. Then went for a walk down the beach to watch some surfers and wait for the L to kick in. The waves weren't huge but they were big enough to stand up on. By the time we got close to the end of the beach I could feel it starting up. For me, I always check by stopping and staring at something. In this case it was the sand around my feet. When I stared at it, the sand would have slight movement with the shadows fading in the distance. It wasn't a double dose but I could definitely notice it was working. Colors became more saturated and deeper with more pop to them. The world was vivid and I felt like I could hear the waves separately.

On our way back to camp we decided it would be best to bring some of the things we didn't need back to the car. We got a couple bags packed, ate more mushrooms and away we were off. It was our goal to only make one trip to the car on the day we left so we wanted to make sure that last hike was as lightweight as possible. It was just beginning to get dark when we started our walk. All the way up the leaves were a dark green with a darkness deep within the canopy of trees. It was fun walking around with a flashlight scoping things out on the way. By the time we got to the car it was completely dark. We put the things in the car and made our journey back to camp. Nothing crazy happened besides the walk seeming way faster than usual. It only felt like we were gone for fifteen minutes but it's a forty minute walk there and back.

When we got to camp we had this goal that we wanted to touch the huge island rock when the tide was low. Even with two attempts we didn't make it. The first time we went out we had our shoes on and didn't want to get soaked so we walked back to camp. Then us high kids wanted to make it happen so we tried to go out without shoes. The water was fine and crispy cold but the closer we got to the rock the deeper the water got. We saw people walking out here but I don't know if it was this deep for them. We may have waited to long to try. We didn't feel like getting that wet so we turned around sad and a little pissed off. It wasn't that bad but we walked maybe a half mile between the rock and our camp. Oh well, I can't stay mad on psychedelics for long. It was more funny than sad.

For dinner we had some potato soup we bought earlier. Let me tell you, even just heating up soup can be a hard task while high. B's mind was all over the place trying to think of too many things at once. The burner and pot kept falling on the ground until she got the soup in the pot. We got it done and the soup was amazing for being out of a Campbell's cup. After this we ended up going into the tent around midnight. We just hung out and ate the rest of the shrooms laying down getting higher and higher. B is a wonderful girl but I wasn't trying to have sex with her. I didn't want to create that kind of tension this trip so we just listened to music and made jokes until we crashed out.

Sex never came up into conversation, I just wanted to make sure I got to know her more than I did before and keep a good impression. Girls like when you don't put that kind of pressure onto them. She did reach over me for the shrooms putting her elbow onto my dick but I didn't want to read that move horribly. What if she didn't mean it and I try something she didn't want? It would be too awkward of a drive home if it didn't work out. For me, I try to be the best person I can to where girls end up grabbing at me seductively. In my opinion it creates way better sex if it ever comes to that. If it doesn't, then I'll still have a wonderful friendship to hold on to.

The last day B made some breakfast for us, sausages and eggs. It was so good and killed my hunger. I remember being super appreciative of her and told her how awesome she was. If your friends make food for you then you know they care. I could tell she appreciates when I tell her thank you and compliment her. For me it's just about making girls feel good about themselves because I know it truly makes them happy.

After we got done with food we started to get packed up to start our drive home. Good thing we brought some stuff to the car the day before. The uphill climb up the stairs wasn't fun, but it wasn't as horrible as it could've been. We did have to stop a couple times to catch our breath. I'm glad we didn't have to go back for anything though. This is how packed up B's bag was.

All in all, I learned a lot from taking this trip out to the coast. I had a few crappy neighbors, got to see bioluminescence, and grew a stronger relationship from it. I gained more insight on my true self and how I can bring that into the physical world. I learned more about B like what makes her happy, her goals and thoughts about life. I can honestly say it was one of the best trips I've had. 🍄

Thanks for taking the time to read this little weekend out of my life. Once again, I hope you learned a few things about me.
