Paris Offering Free Rides for Children

According to Mayor Anne Hidalgo, kids under age 11 have access to free public transportation in Paris. This offer will begin in September 2019, and will be available to both locals and tourists.

In addition, travelers under age 20 with disabilities will be able to ride free as well. All student travelers will now receive half-off their 'Imagine'R' travel passes, and adolescents (ages 14 to 18) can utilize Paris' bicycle system for free.

Mayor's Hidalgo's plan is that with more travelers driving less, it will make for a cleaner air quality that is safer for citizens. Other European cities like London and Berlin are also moving toward reduced transportation pricing for minors.
