How To Know If Something Is Good?

I am sure that there are many theories by many people about many things whether they’re good or not. The trick is that regarding this question, being theoretical is probably the last thing we should do if we want to find an answer, and a reliable one.

You see, anything at its core has its real and standing-alone essence. The essence of things is independent of what we think about them, and our only way to see something for what it really is, is to stop judging it and just let it be.

Then, the stars will be aligned for something great to happen…

We will get out-of-the-way.

We give ourselves too much credit and we kill everything that is in our way by doing so. But if we step aside and let things just be, we will get to taste the fullness of their presence, and that is the key to the deepest chamber of their existence.

When you get to see something’s or someone’s deepest depths, you are changed forever. That is the way for a complete transformation. I’ll explain with examples.

We are trying to lose weight, but we are judging our “new” diet by saying that it is too strict. We are obviously lacking the knowledge or the discipline that is required to maintain a healthy body weight, yet we have the audacity to judge the way for success. In stead of putting aside our pride, and simply immerse ourselves in the process to the fullest, we think that we already “know” and we are too blinded to be able to see the truth and the fruits we can reap through the process.

We are also doing that with the bible, not because of our fault most of the time, but we still do. When I decided to read the bible for myself and actually give it a shot to be what it really is, I was shocked. How could people twist the truth and hurt others in the name of God after reading verses like Luke 6:27-28 27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” OR Luke 6:37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

Sometimes I am really shocked by the ability of people to spoil everything good.

To sum it up I’ll tell you this: based on my experience, many things are good, but their goodness will not work unless we do. We must understand that gaining wisdom is more important than maintaining status. Success in any area of life requires discipline and an open mind, and without us putting in the hours and the work in order to get rid of false beliefs, no results will come and we will stay in our own small and ignorant world without tasting truth.

Let things be.

Thanks for reading,

Gal
