Our Viking wedding on Hohenneuffen castle in Germany

Hail to you fellow Steemians 🙂

As some of you might already know my husband Ronny and I had a fantastic Viking wedding in 2013.

And as most of those who read about it asked me to make a post on this special day, I finally got the photos together to share this magical wedding with you 💕

When we got married on September 03/2013, we were a couple for almost 7 years. But the date for our wedding was made only a short while after starting to date. Why? Because we immediately felt this extremely strong, powerful and wonderful connection between our souls and hearts!

So after deciding for a date (3 is Ronnys favourite number, 9 is mine and we both love 13 as it is a bad number to most people but to us it always brought lots of luck and positive associations) we really did it and got married this day!

But why did we have a Viking/Celtic wedding?

Because I feel so connected to this era, tribes, Gods and life back then! So it was pretty obvious to us, especially me, that we would not have a normal wedding, but a very special one connected to nature and the elements.

And five years back magic came to life!

We got married in Viking and Celtic clothing and had a original Viking ceremony and a Celtic dinner with ancient recipes on Hohenneuffen castle in Germany, on a mountain of the Swabian Alps! 🙂

A lot of our guests were dressed in Viking clothes, too. A friend of our family played ancient songs on her harp. My husband's groomsman made an enchanting and authentic ceremony to tie the knot in the presence of the Gods, the spirits of nature and our ancestors.

It was so emotional that even the elder family members and guests, who are used to classic weddings, cried as they were so touched. Such a heart-warming spectacle!

We danced, chanted, celebrated, drank and laughed together until sun said goodbye to us behind the impressive mountains and the moon and stars pierced the nightsky with their mystic light.

This day was so unique, like a fairytale, a dream, a shaman dance of the hearts!

Most people did not want to end up in the big internet, so I only share photots of Ronny and me. But I simply couldn't keep this precious day from you and really wanted to share one of the most beautiful days in my life.

I hope you enjoy!💖

P.S.: A few photos unfortunately always end up being turned to the right. I tried everything to fix it, but it didn't work :( I hope you don't mind. I am really sorry for that!

When he finally arrived he left me speachless and so happy. What a handsome man he is! My Viking warrior!

After a short ceremony our dream became true: We were husband and wife! I am still sorry for almost knocking him down of joy! Luckily he is a very strong man! :D

Time for the wedding cake! Of course shaped like the hammer of the God Thor, which is also called Mjölnir. Didn't the confectioner made an AMAZING job?

After the official ceremony we went to Hohenneuffen castle to have a Viking ceremony and a big party. Just look at that breathtaking scenery! Isn't that magical?

Inside the castle we even had an own room for dinner and celebration with an impressive decoration and view from the balcony

But before we ate, drank and had a big party, there was still an enchanting Viking ceremony waiting for us! A last meeting and talk before it should start

What an emotional ritual we had! I still got the goosebumps when I think of it!

Now we were also officially married in the Viking way!

We carried the blessed and sacred Thors hammer to the dining room to start the celebration

And Ronny immediately proved what an attentive and loving husband he is when my shoelace got loose

Skål - Touching glasses with champagne? No, we prefered horns and Viking mead to drink on us!

Now the bond was made forever and I am so proud, happy and touched to be Ronnys wife and shieldmaiden forever!💕
