Acid attacks are becoming more frequent in many parts of the world. Once thought to be something spies did to each other, now anybody may be a victim. People walking innocently along the road and people going to a nightclub have recently been targeted in the UK.

An acid attack is when a person throws a corrosive substance at another person with the intention of disfiguring them or killing them. The acid burns and damages the skin and can dissolve bones.
The victim will never be the same again!!
It is beyond the comprehension of most people why anyone would carry out an acid attack. Motivations vary from being political, religious to sexual rejection. There has recently been a guy who said he did it for fun.
Of course, these perps are mentally sick. There is not much we can do to protect ourselves from acid attacks.
It is important for vendors of corrosive substances to report or refuse any suspicious purchases. In fact, we must all be vigilant in this respect. There is no valid reason for a person to hoard sulphuric and nitric acid. Even hydrochloric acid is corrosive although its effects are slightly milder.
So wake up to this danger and try to stop these dreadful acid attacks.
