Bumped into these Galahs..!
The Pinkish Inquisition?
The Galah is possibly the most familiar of all Australian Parrots, found abundantly in most parts of Australia and even some off-shore islands.
BirdLife Australia describe the Galah as being 'easily identified by its rose-pink head, neck and underparts, with paler pink crown, and grey back, wings and undertail.'
They truly are a beautiful bird and once again, these birds are very friendly and playful. In fact, it's not uncommon to see them doing acrobatics on the electricity wires - mind you, they very much seem to be playing and having fun..! (and I will have to try and capture some footage of that)
Galahs definitely hold a place in my list of favourite birds, not only for their colour but also their personality and boldness.
As noted by Wikipedia
Galah is also derogatory Australian slang, synonymous with 'fool', 'clown' or 'idiot'.
But this is clearly more of an insult to the bird than it is for the 'fool'.
