Let the Bird Watching Begin
Simpson & Day's Field Guide to the Birds of Australia: Protective cover (left) and dust jacket (right)
Recently, I made a post and mentioned I was looking for my 'bird-watching' book.
Well, despite being buried underneath boxes of clutter, I'm pleased to say that I've now found that book.
The Simpson & Day Field Guide to the Birds of Australia is one of the main national bird field guides used by Australian birders, which over the years has evolved through several revised and updated editions. src
The copy I have is an 8th Edition, printed in 2010 which is also the last edition listed and I think there would be an online database that holds this information today.
And while I love the internet, there is no match for the convenience of opening a book and being able to hold it in your hands - unless it's buried under clutter, of course..!
Anyhoo, watch this space for some new bird-watching posts... and if I'm really patient, (and quiet) I might even be able to snag a decent photo or two... lol
My resident 'Magpie Lark' will be the star of a future post
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post, I really do appreciate your time.
And remember to keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you're thinking...!
