“The planet is at a key turning point. The giant asteroid, known as “Asteroid 7661 GJ”, is only a few days away from colliding with the planet earth. This giant asteroid is the size of an entire planet, and if it collides with earth, the impact will be catastrophic to life on this planet. One scientist, the esteemed, Albert Einstein, has created a program that watches the asteroids and keeps a detailed log of all objects in the asteroid belt. Upon creating this program, Einstein was made aware of a massive asteroid that had been creating disturbances in the asteroid belt. He immediately notified NASA and had the program started.
The computer was specially programmed to calculate the timing and location of this asteroid. This asteroid has been slated for several years, but had been in the “slowing its approach to the planet” mode for the last few days. The asteroid was fairly low in the southern hemisphere, and had been dormant for the last 5 years. Then suddenly, the asteroid woke up with an energy that it has not had since the asteroid woke up in its dormant mode. The asteroid began to oscillate between it dormant and active modes.
Suddenly the asteroid woke up, and though the earth viewed this activity with great concern, this development seemed to bring comfort to some. Scientists on earth point to this disturbance as the asteroid's awakening.

“I was chosen to take one of the very small vessels on a journey to the asteroid. They did not have a choice. I had to go. It was a long 2 months, we got too close to the asteroid, because of our boisterous enthusiasm. This capsule was designed to hold ten people. On the first day, right after our jump, one person died during the jump because of an over inflated lung. The capsule was redesigned after that.
On the second day, we had a false start. A panic was created, and though we had been told this was a statistical possibility, it just added to the fear of the human inhabitants on earth. At the same time, a freak electrical reaction creating a chain reaction within the capsule. One of the lights shorted out, and the electrified atmosphere never exploded. The charge passed through the wire and into the bundle of wires we had on the ceiling of the capsule. One of the lamps exploded, and one of the wires fell and snapped the cord. The cord snapped, and the wire in the ceiling eventually snapped and activated the system we had set up. The harness opened, and five of us floated in freefall for several minutes. One fell back into the capsule, and the other 4 hit one of the walls and landed on the ground. The wires had to be separated, because they were causing a spark every time they came together. After this, the course was plotted again, and we were a much lighter load.
