Since I joined Steemit I have learned quite a few words and terms that are unique only to our platform and can't be used elsewhere.
To start with, I have learned words such as:
- Upvote
- Resteem
- Steem
- Steem Power
- SBD or Steem Backed Dollar
There are other words that are more common but would be interpreted and used differently in our platform such as:
- Downvote
- Power Up
- Wallet
- Rewards
- Witnesses
- Follow
- Minnows
- Dolphins
- Whales
It's like learning an entirely new language altogether again.
However, I would like to share some words that I have come up with!
My post's objective is to establish more new terminologies and expressions that are uniquely Steemit.

I will list a few and if you think you have more to add or have a better expression for the ones listed below, please feel free to put them in the comments below so readers may know your mind. Here goes:
Curied - The most important event in a Steemit Blogger's life when a curation team has established your post to be of top-notch quality and worthy of tens and tens or hundreds of Steem Token Units or Rewards. (Please note that @curie is not the only curation team in our platform but seems to be the most popular as this word is what I often hear when a post gets curated.)
Cheetah'ed - The most dreaded experience that a Steemit Blogger can hope will not happen to his post. This is when @cheetah replies immediately to your post with an upvote and a link to a similar content as your post.
UV - Short for Upvote.
Stents - When a post earns only cents. (The St is for Steemit)
FUR - If crypto speak coined FUD then Steemit has FUR which means Follow, Upvote and Resteem. A FUR is one of the best things to happen to your post.
DSTO - This happens when your post is seen by only 1 or 2 (one of them being Cheetah) and is forgotten after 7 days. Stands for Down Scrolled To Oblivion (This is not mine. Credit is to my good friend @bycoleman)
Cash-o - Not to be mistaken for the watch. Stands for Cashing Out your Steem or SBD.
Steem Remorse - This is when a Blogger Stents and Stents and wants to give up on Steemit. Or when most of his posts are DSTO. (Does this sound familiar?)
HOSDL - Like HODL, I just thought we might add an "S" to make it Steemit appropriate. Means Hold On to your Steem for Dear Life. (I am not drunk lol). Prices will rise soon.
DVd - What you do to Spammers and the like. You Down Vote them (used in the past tense).
IV - As in intravenous, when a Bloggers posts are drying out and dehydration is set to come in. He needs an IV! Could stand for Infusion of Votes or Intravenous Votes.
Steemathon - In the extreme, you Steemit 24/7. Normally, Steeming 3 to 4 hours a day which is how long it normally takes to run a marathon. Short for Steeming Marathon.

Well, that's all for the moment. As I mentioned earlier if you feel you have a better term for the ones I listed above or would like to add to the list, please write them down in the comments and then FUR so everyone in Steemit may know about the new terminologies that are evolving in our community.
F.U.R. stands for Follow, Upvote and Resteem!
THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ MY POST
I hope this post won't get DSTO! haha
