Save Kentucky BJJ is a coalition of gym owners and instructors with a long-standing history of martial arts instruction in the state and beyond. We teach jiu-jitsu for self-defense and competition, enriching our students’ lives by providing physical fitness and positive mental health.

The current pandemic and subsequent government guidelines have presented obvious challenges to all small businesses. The jiu-jitsu community has been additionally significantly impacted, because the social distancing restrictions conflict with the close nature of training. However, we have complied and taken great measures to protect our students and staff in this time, including closing our facilities a week before it was mandated.

Now that the virus has been contained and our healthcare system strengthened, the time has come to reopen. In light of most current data, we believe we will be able to continue to do our part by giving students the option to come back and train. We have always put the safety and health of our students and staff above all, and we plan to increase those measures upon reopening.

We are excited to share our plan for safely reopening our gyms beginning June 1st. See the petition and outline here: tiny.cc/5atgpz
